Here's a link to a piece done by a Charlotte TV station. Thought some
of you guys might find it interesting.

Thanks for the "heads up", Joe. I'm familiar with one of the on-screen
characters (Keith Turk - the fellow cracking wise with the reporter),
and enjoy seeing him in his "natural environment". They DO race Studes
down at Maxton - too bad the story didn't include a '53 making a pass.

I generally am only a course worker. I do not at present race, although
I have a couple of ideas brewing in the back of my head.
The weekend the news crew was there there were no Studes running.
Unfortunately, very few do run anymore.

That bike is a Hyabusa (sp?) with twin turbos and nitros. The owner
works for DEI and does ride to work frequently. It is the fastest
non-streamlined bike in the world at this time. He has run a Maxton a
lot and at the new land speed venue in Texas, but never at Bonneville.
I would like to see how close he could get to 300 with the five miles
Bonneville could allow him. In reality maybe not all that m uch more
than he gets at Maxton.
