25+ years ago we bought a place from a couple who were splitting up.  He had
been into old cars and left me some parts (plus a complete '54 Kaiser
Manhattan).  In the parts was the manifold and two identical carburetors
shown here:
http://www.frontiernet.net/~thejohnsons/Mystery%20manifold%20&%20carb/
The intake manifold is aluminum, is flat on the bottom but has two sets of
ports, one for each side.  The carb(s) is cast iron (seems like it weighs 20
pounds, is two barrel with separate butterflies for each barrel.  The
butterflies are synchronized by a geared connection and are works of art.
There is no id or casting number on the manifold and only a little rusted
(unreadable) plate on the carb.
Any ideas???

If I were a betting man, I'd say it was from a narrow angle V-16
engine, maybe Cadillac?

You may be very close.  The guy supposedly had a Marmom (V-16) at one time.
I always wondered if that is what it might be.
