64daytonaht - 06 Aug 2005 16:56 GMT Is it possible to have to many Studebaker toys?
Just back from a round robin trip to pick up Diesel truck and parts in between Connecticut and North Carolina.
Went out to the shop this morning to start putting stuff away and maybe change out the pinion seal in my 64 hardtop, something I've been meaning to do for a while, now.
Put a few items away, suddenly got really down, looking at all the junk stacked, packed and in the way.
Just had to stop. Now, it's around 98 degrees and getting hotter, so I'm just bummed out, as it's to hot to even work on my car.
Anybody out there having one of those days?
Bo

64daytonaht - 06 Aug 2005 17:44 GMT I was in Litchfield for one day. I went up to collect the Crew Cab Diesel I bought and a load of NOS parts. I was on a rather tight schedule and didn't have time to stop and visit anywhere along the way.
I may be back up there in late Sept., or Oct. Depending on how the auction at Asa's goes?

Rick Courtier - 06 Aug 2005 17:47 GMT Be sick with the airline grud for a few weeks now and I went to the Body Shop today to work on the Sky Hawk. Spend the morning beat the spoiler back into shape. Got it pretty straight, but it took the life right out of me with the heat & humidity. Came home and going to have a beer. . . (record a 12 pack of beer has been in my refrigerator for about 2 weeks) . . .I got to get back into working and drinking condition.

went to Texarkana with girlfriend....
on the way out of town, we stopped at a convenience store, and there was a motorhome, pulling a flatbed, carrying a perfect looking AMPHICAR.
owner said it was a 1967.... seen them in magazines, NEVER seen one in the flesh.
License plate frame said "you should see me swim"
Jeff Rice - 07 Aug 2005 01:57 GMT Up in Illinois, about 65 miles NW of Chicago there was an amusement park called Santa's Village. Cheesy steel roller coasters, and kid's rides... They had a big pond and a small fleet of Amphicars. You'd get tickets for the rides and we'd always use a lot of them up taking the Amphicar ride out in the pond. They closed it down in the early seventies IIRC... Jeff

Drove the Lark to work the other day - visiting day at the prison makes it such a pain to park the F350 crew cab dually. A lot of the inmates saw the Lark in the parking lot, some of the older ones had stories to tell about Studebakers. about halfway home, I realized that the little crack in the muffler must have totally blown out. So now I really don't want to drive her anywhere until I have enough money to get a bunch of work done. Exhaust (might as well get twin pipes put on), interior, upholstery, headliner, all the rubber around the doors, cats whiskers in the windows, maybe a new coat of paint - Oh well, she still starts and moves, and the brakes are still good.....

No big deal. Just fix the muffler..

I say that, only having three. It's impossible to drive, work on, or play with more than one at a time. I need to neglect two now, so I can concentrate on one, so I can cut down on the addiction.

I have this fantasy that over the next umpteen years I'll bounce from one to the other, doing a little here and a little there, and suddenly one day they'll all be perfect.
Yeah, right.

Oh yeah, the cars don't seem to mind if I drive another one.
