Yee-Haa!

You never know what will be buried in a given article.

Amos Press' September 2005 Muscle Car Enthusiast magazine was in
subscriber hands this past week. In it is an article written by Paul
Zazarine entitled, "Prime Time Stan Rarden: An Interview with the
Creator of The American Musclecar TV Show." The format of the article
is a long Question-and-Answer Interview of about 50 random questions
Paul Zazarine posed to Stan Rarden, followed by Stan's answers.

Most of the way through the article, this question is posed:
"What's the weirdest thing that ever happened [while filming American
Musclecar]? Something you just didn't expect to happen."

Stan Rarden's answer, EXACT quote;

"The day we had three cameras focused on a big-block Chevelle in the
left-hand lane at The Pure Stock Drags and an R-3 Studebaker in the
right lane blew his doors off. That one didn't make the show, but it
did make our Christmas Party blooper reel."

Ya' gotta' love that! (I'll leave editorial remarks about why it didn't
make the show to subsequent posters in this thread.) BP

How Sad is that? Instead of giving credit where due, you censor it out. The
old saying win on Sunday, sell on Monday, had material like that gotten into
the publics hands, maybe the company would have lasted longer.

That was not an out take, that was a take out, take out anything that
doesn't promote a mystique about certain cars.

The History Chanel is running a very comprhensive series on cars, it is
almost as if the word Studebaker was purposely.
Under every topic they left out all menttion of Studebaker. No mention about
them when they did Police Cars, no mention over the last 5 episodes.

With 3 cameras pointed on the losing car, the wrapper may have been out
of frame making the video useless. I assume they thought they'd show the
brand X pulling away and follow it down the strip. As it turned out,
they quessed the winner wrong, perhaps making the video crap.

History? Guess the old adage about if you don't like the history
rewrite it holds true! Glad at least the author asked the question and
the answer was printed.
