That is an interesting car. I believe it is an ex-taxi. It has the long
wheelbase Cruiser body, but has the low-level trim (single headlights, no
stainless around windows, six cylinder. How many of these could have
survived?
It would be worth saving for the novelty of it (paint it yellow, put the
signs on it...).

I noticed that it has the floor shift. Wasn't that optional on taxi models?

I noticed that after posting. I think the floor shift three-speed was the
standard (base) transmission. It looks stock except for the knob.

I'm doubting the taxi cab theory, however......that little shiny thing at
top center of the grill could be a T-handle hood release that was factory
installed on some cabs.

It may not have been a taxi, but that body style was only available in fleet
sales.

Dwain,
Also, look on the trunk lid. Isn't that the special 'latch' that was
used on Taxis, all you had to do to open the trunk was to twist the
handle....ie, did not have to use a key like a 'normal' passenger
car....??

If he only knew how valuable that taillight was before he broke it. He could
have sold it for more then the car is worth.
