I am planning to replace the front shock absorbers on my 1962 7E7. My
local FLAPS [Carquest] does not have a listing so I looked in the
archives of the news group and found a Jeff Dewitt query on the same
subject from last summer. It mentioned Gabriel p/n 81147 as an
interchange for 1950 to 1960 trucks both half ton and three quarter ton.
I wondered if the same shocks were used on C and T cabs as this seems to
imply. I also wondered if there were any other interchanges.

My thanks for any help you might offer.

Colin - I also have a 7E7 and like the ride I get from NAPA 'Regal Ride'
#20864 shocks.  FYI, the rears are also from NAPA: Reflex #911091.

I have no data on whether that part number works or not, but my
understanding is the basic truck chassis didn't change all that much
when the cab changed.

might find more info here, if you haven't already been...

Several years ago I went into Pep Boys and looked up shocks for a '50
1/2 ton C-cab and they were listed in their    book. I do not remember
the number but they worked great.
