Had some free time and decided to replace the cowl vent gasket on my 38.
Previous owners had used various things packed in there in an attempt to
keep the water out.  At one time someone used some kind of putty all
around it keeping it shut.  It still leaked real bad.  I expected to see a
ton of rust, but after digging out all kinds of weird gook there was NO
rust at all!  This car amazes me; almost no rot and it was a northern car.
Obviously spent winters in a garage.
