I would almost have to keep this car and give to a grand child. I can hear
the child now.

Wondering out loud, did he drive it with the overdrive cable out? Makes
a big difference on wear and tear and speed driving across country.
Most non studebaker types know very little on the overdrive and how it
works.

I picked up my 48 Landcruiser from the guy that had owned it for 20
years and he thought the overdrive worked. Well as soon as I started
from San Jose Ca back to AZ all the OD would do was freewheel and not
engage. That is how he thought it would work.
