To my surprise, when switching to later model front hubs/drums, I
discovered that the '55 cups and retainer washer were to big.  Are the
correct ones available at a local FLAPS or do I haft visit an evil vendor?

(Who suspects that the earlier hubs were beefier than the newer ones)

That reminds me...I have the front hubs, backing plates, bearings, etc
from a 52 2R available. It's off the truck I converted to Turner
brakes...then had Mike Gaither cut the front clip off and replace it
with a Camaro subframe.

I sold the front end but still have the brake setup if anyone
wants/needs it. Shipping would be a bi*ch, but you can have it all for
$50 plus shipping!

Regarding my delimna, I picked up spindle nut kits for a full size
1960's F*rd (which uses the same bearings as a Stude) and that part is
solved.  Today, I will check on the availability of dust caps.

Now, I'm wondering if the rear grease seals are different between a '55
and '56up passenger car...  That will be the Lobor day project.

BTW, I will have a full set of 1955 V8 hubs/drums (that have been
turned) available then.  Well, actually they have about five miles on
'em since turning.

No, only the fronts.
