Just checking both the Jul and Aug issues of TW tonight at work, and I
noticed the production figures. In 1960 they built 220 Hawks at the Hamilton
plant, and about the same in 61 I believe. So first off, anyone else out there
have a 60 Hamilton Hawk?,its a rare bird.
But what I wonder is why they bothered to build any at all.Why would you set
up a line or track and run off 220 units,it just dosen't seem to make any
economic sense, why didn't they just build a few more in South Bend?
Also, how did the cars arrive in Hamilton, were they CKD,completely knocked
down and just asssembled?I can't see Hamilton Stamping out fenders and other
body parts for such few cars.
Can someone point me to a good book on the Hamilton operations?

If you look ar the build date of that car, the Canadian Hawks for 60 "almost
never were" That one was #48 (March 23rd?) of 220, and they only started
production in March. I'm pretty sure that Nova Scotia white 60 is a Hamilton
Hawk, and doesn't Judy S have one too?

Life....well life has been "interesting" this year (grrrrrr.) I think I'm
going to have to retire (or die) to have any time for me, or any fun. I'm
taking Labour Day-(Canadian) Thanksgiving off
