I missed his slap at the president but I know posts often get mixed or
lost.
I like Roosevelt's thinking .Maybe, if Bush  and his surrounding Chicken
Hawks had  "striven valiantly" in Vietnam they would have had the wisdom and
experience not to ask someone else to die in a similar unnecessary war.

Roosevelt?  I was given to believe Pat came up with that on his own.  <G>

I, too, like Roosevelt's thinking.  Why?  Because I think he was right, at
least at it applies to this particular quote.

To stretch that to mean that it applies to our current president (or lack
thereof) is... not much of a stretch.  But, I can see how somebody could
make that... mistake?  <G>

The quote is valid... until somebody applies it to somebody they like, and
gets all offended by the truth.
