Rick Courtier came up for another fun filled weekend of working on Lloyd's
Transtar.
Rick has been ordering parts all week and boxes are still arriving.
We had an upper management planning session at a remote offsite location
(Roadhouse Grill) with the Deep-N-Hock upper management (Carrie).
The weekend agenda was discussed and hourly mileposts were established to
ensure the project timeline would say on track and on task.
Senior management was non plussed at the aggressive nature of the timetable,
citing previous sessions that were not completed in the time frames posted.
Such concerns were noted, and management was reassured that this timetable
would be closely adhered to.
Then we moved on to the team building exercise portion of the meeting.
Upper management noted that it seemed incongruous to prove anatomical
retention capabilities at this particular planning meeting, but it was
explained to her that it was extremely important to know how much liquid
could be held when the said liquid was served in large quantities and at
colder temperatures (approximately 38 degree's Fahrenheit).
We both reiterated to upper management that this test was a mandatory
function of our self appointed HR committee, and that it has never been
skipped ant any meetings since the forming of the management team.
Upper management rolled her eyes, which we both immediately took for us
getting a 'green light' to proceed with the meeting.
After the future planning task force discussed the parameters of the next
planning session, the remote meeting was placed in suspension and then the
management team returned to the corporate office park. Upper management
informed the work team that it would not be advisable to go out to the
manufacturing plant at this time, as operating equipment in this condition
would be a violation of most every work safety standard the company has in
place. This was duly noted and then the work team reassembled in the
manufacturing facility.
No work rules were violated, as this was an overview of work processes
meeting where the entire operation was scrutinized.
This was a detailed and intensive review that was strenuous.
Refreshments were provided by our corporate sponsors Yuengling, and
Michelob.
The meeting was eventually closed after our sponsorship ran out and a
decision was made to reassemble the work detail the following morning.
No photographs were allowed at this management meeting.
All glass was recycled during this meeting.

We acquired #1 Son's "new" car.  He's always wanted and AMC Eagle, and when
Joe Flannery offerred his up, he couldn't resist.

Long day of driving for us.

Up @ early, pack car and drive 6AM- about 1 PM (an hour of lost in
Hackensack NJ is included) Finally call Joe Flannery and get vectored in
for to his house.

Looked the car over- a formality - since Joe did such a great job of
keeping it in tiptop shape.

It's the best looking 1980 AMC Eagle I have ever seen.  Joe gave us a VERY
fair price and did a lot of work to get it ready to drive home and even
loaned us the plates for the trip home.

Oh yeah - he cooked up a GREAT pot of chili and fed us before we left.

Drove 'till about 10PM for a 18 hour day when we pulled into the driveway.
I-80 Sucks!

I LOVE this place!

Mark (URP- Great Chili - LONG drive)
