Got this from a real ebay members ID that must have been hijacked:

"Message from eBay Member

    Marketplace Safety Tips
Never respond to an unsolicited email that includes incentives to buy or
sell an item off the eBay Marketplace. If you get such an email, please
report it to eBay at http://www.ebay.com.my/helpTSForm.

Never pay for your eBay item through instant cash transfer services such
as Western Union or MoneyGram - such services offer Internet shoppers no
protection against fraud.

I sent you the money , where's the package ? You promised that after i
send the money you send the goods asap . is this a fraud? Please let me
know! Should I contact the autorities ?

Rolland
Please respond to the question on eBay by clicking the button below."

I checked the auctions the had user won, none were mine. Sure
enough, when I clicked on the "Respond on ebay button", my phish guard
program flagged it.

"Ebay.com.my", what  a joke,already this weekend I think I got about 20
different schemes from Ebay, paypal, along with a few Bank of the West
confirming emails.

Do me a favor already and close my  accounts,I'll save money and no more BS
scams<LOL>

I've gotten a couple of similar communications but since they were
complaining of not getting an item and the fact that I haven't sold
anything in the last few months stood out like a sore thumb.

Getting a number of PayPal phishing emails lately as well...

If the perps get caught, they should be drawn and quartered!

The best I heard lately was on  the local news that was doing a segment on
internet fraud.
They interviewed a few people who were scammed, the last guy was a forty
something computer professional who was in charge of online security for a
financial institution.think he stills has a job??<LOL>

I have found that if it DOES NOT have my REAL name as in, "Dear (my name)"
it is phishing and I just send it to spoof @ whatever...I get probably 5 a
day.  Just takes a second to send it to "spoof."

But real bidders, buyers and sellers don't know my real name either,
and this phish came from a hijacked ebay member and looked like a real
ebay contact.

Ah!  A thought.  Write back with many apologies and offer a refund.  Using a
bogus PO Box address, send him an envelope full of Monopoly money.  Hee,
hee, hee.

It doesn't matter if they get caught or not, it's extremely profitable for
them.  One of my sons friends called me the other day with an "Ebay"
problem.  He was bidding on a supercharger for a Mustang, but got beat out
in the last few minutes by another bidder.  He received a "second chance
offer" on the supercharger, but didn't accept it (didn't know he was
supposed to) and emailed the guy.  He gets an email back from the "seller"
telling him he'd sell it to him for $1800, but that he'd need to wire the
money Western Union.  He does that and doesn't call me for a month when he
never got the supercharger.  A friend of mine did some tracing on the email
and says it came out of Romania.  The money was wired to Chicago but long
gone now.

You've gotta figure if they send out 100 emails, they'll probably get 2-3
people that fall for it every time.  So they're raking in the dough.
