Got allot of metal work done and will be priming tomorrow.  All the major sheet metal is done except for the main body and I hope it will be done shortly. I even got the grass cut. . .Hurricane what hurricane?

Is that supposed to increase the value?

I don't know about that...But it is something few peole can say. You do
know who Dr. Cade is don't you? He invented Gatorade, and has a NICE
Studebaker collection. They are to be building a museum too.

Yes I, and probably everyone else here, know who Dr. Cade is.  I just never
heard anyone talking about owning one of his old cars like it was something
special.

I wonder how many others he has sold. Can't be too many. This is the
car that the German exchange student wrecked. The Cade's fixed it, and
sold it to us about ten years ago. Now it really just needs some body
work and paint. The interior is still in great shape.

Well, if you wanna see, it's there. We have a better hood to go on
it...

You gotta be kidding me! Ours is to be black, as Grandad had a black
one in the 70's. But if I ever inherit it, it wil be the color as
yours! I think that the Sky Hawk was among the top 5 best looking
Studes ever, and that is my number 1 choise of color for them. I wanna
see it when ya get through...

Every time I see Sky Hawk mentioned I feel worse about selling the one I had
in the mid-80s.  It was rust-free, straight (undamaged) body, three speed
overdrive, original gold (single color) paint with a so-so black and white
interior.  It was cobbled up mechanically and I had a man wanting it to
restore like his '56 Golden that he had owned years ago, so...
I do agree that they are one of the best looking Studebakers.  I'm not
interested in finned Hawks or '62s/'63s, but I love the '64s too.

My Sky Hawk has been in the restoration shop for the last 18 months and
will soon move into the paint booth (I hope).  It will also be Romany
Red on bottom and Snowcap White on top.  Mine was straight to begin
with and was completely dry.  The hood had at one time, wrapped up over
the roof and had a marginal repair at best.  I did have to locate a new
hood.    Don C.
