Just wrung out the last Toyota Rav 4 the dealer has left, its black and is a
5 speed.
Handels like a sports car, lots of low end,but passing on the highway sucks
with its little 1.6 litre. The 5 speed shifts as smooth as goose sh.t on a
door knob.
What to hell,I filled out an application, find out tommorrow, then Ill figure
out if I really want the damn thing.
He asked me if I was trading in the Hawk.
I said a most definite NO.
He said "good,we already have three or four of those on the lot now"
What a jester,he missed his calling, should have been a comedian.

Geez, boy, what you want out of that 1.6 litre, good mileage in a 4x4 or
passing trucks? Passing gas stations is more like it <G>. Pity the poor
suckers in Toronto/Montreal--home of the Instant Overreaction, where the
price went up 20 cents/litre overnight (for our metric challenged US
friends, that is 90 cents a gallon or 72 cents a US sized gallon.) Here on
PEI, where fuel prices are regulated*, my station is going up from 99.4
centrs to $1.094 tomorrow. My Toyota Corolla took $39.00 to fill tonight....

*regulated = the gas companies open their books, the arms-length regulator
decides what is a fair price INCLUDING a fair profit/rate of return on
investment for both the fuel company including the costs of delivery, AND
the local service station owner--no skimping, IRAC want everyone to stay in
business and make money. So, as of Sept 1, $1.10 a litre is a "fair" price,
including our taxes.

Still, I'm NOT going to stop driving just because of the increases--going to
Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, Fortress of Louisbourg, Southern Shore and
Halifax next week. I'll just set the cruise at 90 instead of 110.

Its the 30k sticker that bothers me the most Jim.

Jeez, Robert.

Find yourself an older Diesel Suburban. 20 mpg, loaded or empty, and
all the room you could possibly want, and you could probably find a
real creampuff for under $8000.

Why make the banks rich?
