Oldest is headed to NO on the USCGC Confidence with supplies.  I told
him to be careful of the shooting etc.    The Coasties will not be
issued sidearms.
Bill is also looking to buy a Stude in  Florida or Texas.  6 or V-8 but
it has to be "Cool".  He is stationed in the Port Canaveral area and I
live about 50 miles west of Houston.

I wish him a safe & productive deployment, Jim.
Bayou Cities Chapt member Steve Shore, a paramedic, was sent to Biloxi prior
to arrival of Katrina to help out. I have not been able to reach him on his
cell phone. He is probably too busy to talk anyway.

Hope he will be okay....

I get more news out of my old hometown newspaper in Alexandria, LA, than I
do anywhere else

the school superintendant is Gary Jones, a/k/a/ Brig. General Gary Jones of
the Louisiana National Guard.

he had his pic in yesterdays Dallas Morning news, also

Gen. Jones asked the mayor in Alexandria to open the coliseum as a shelter,
is allowing the out of town schoolchildren to attend school there for the
several months they are expected to be there. and today school is closed, as
the school busses, and drivers have gone to New Orleans to shuttle people
from New Orleans to Houston
