I'm putting together a '55 C body, using a '56 C/K dash, and the vehicle
w/be 12 volt.  I have all the proper switches, but do not have the
relay/breaker infomation. Can anyone direct me to a method of determining
which switches require a relay/breaker and what the capacity should be? My
electrical skills are limited, so I need something that is crystal
clear/idiot proof.
Thx in advance, Stan

I am wiring a 1955 C-body with a 1957 Hawk Dash right now (till 10 pm
last night)

We would have to know exactly what year/style switches you are using..
Are they all 1956 switches? If so, most come with their own integral
fuses and breakers (Headlites, Instument lts, wiper, defrost, air).
Just plug in the correct colored wires- You ARE using a '56 wiring
harness aren't you?
You WILL NEED a '56-later turn signal switch, horn relay, dimmer switch,
wiper motor, fan motor, and defroster motor. Though, they should run for
awhile on 12V. Perhaps use an in-line voltage reducer.
You are going to need to change some light sockets and connectors.

I can scan and e-mail you a printable 1956 C/K wiring diagram and
color-key should you not have access to one.

of my question.  Thx, Stan

There is also aset of three circuit breakers that sit into a metal retainer.
Do a search for 12V auto circut breakers. There is a gellow who sell them in
banks of   3   4   6   and 8 on a bar, all you will need is the three
breaks. Certain things , very few, go to these rather than the ones on the
switcches. They are mainly for optons.
