Fly In and BBQ competitionSept 3rd.

We only had three, but alot of people came over and enjoyed looking at our
cars. Gave out several TW and local newsletters. Just trying to spark some
interest in our area. The airport manager gave us a great spot in front of
the main terminal building. He also invited us back for next year.

Thank you Matthew, that is my car.  Had it about a month now.    Found out
just how good the brakes work last night.

Well I hope that they work well! Ladies must like the GT Hawks more
that guys. I like em okay, and yes they are vrey beautiful cars, but
mostly women have em. My grandma has a 63 of her own.

A 63-64 Avavnti is one of those that my granddad would love to have.
But he loves his 57 Hawk more than any Avanti though. My grandma's
Avanti is a 1981 Avanti II. One of the 195 for that year.
Glad that the brakes are good. We went in a trip (my granddad and I) in
the 57 Hawk, and in te middle of nowhere, it sounded as though
something had fallen off the car. We went to stop, and we had NO
brakes! And the oil cap had fallen off. Didn't know tat that could
happen...

Bob, McPherson Kansas is where a collage is that teaches auto restoration.
We often wander where the new members of the SDC will come from, here is one
place. Dad has been trying to get the SDC to donate some of their monies to
them and get them a Studebaker project to work on, with out to much help.
Ebon...(the SDC wants to spend it on lawyers, I think)

Yes the flyin was at McPherson Kansas.  I graduated from McPherson College.
When I attended back in 1979-81 I took a photography class and did a whole
bunch of picture taking on the project they working on for my class.   After
being away for a while I went back and finished my BS in Business Mgmt.

The new Studebaker Foundation is looking at making putting McPherson College
on the priority list.  I don't know specifics.

Oh, yes, I'm familiar with McPherson College. Excellent place. One of
our attendees at Spokane had a truck he had restored (darn, wish I
could remember his name) who was a McPherson Alumnus. Nice guy, and
that is a great school. BP
