If anyone on the NG knows of anyone displaced by Katrina, I have a 2 br
townhouse in Las Vegas that I am willing to offer for several months.
It's within 5 miles of the strip, on bus routes, obviously I'd prefer to
offer it to someone with references (like somebody on the group knows
them), otherwise I'll offer it through a hurricane relief organization.
Vegas is a great place to start over if someone needs to do that, and if
they don't have a gambling jones like me. <G>

Just remember what happened when the Superdome owner thought he was doing
the right thing... they might as well burn it down and collect the insurance
money now.

I hope that was just a trolling comment, so I won't reply further.

Trolling comment, not Lee! lol
Hell, anyone knows that Vicente Fox could send in about 2000 workers, &
along with a few million, it would be ready to use in a years time!

Just an observation, it's a great gesture... I'd just be leery of putting
someone you have absolutely no reference of living in your house.  You might
get someone who will treat your property with the utmost respect, or you
might get someone who'll pawn everything you own.  Some people have a funny
way of treating things that aren't theirs.

Hey, we agree on something. I would be leery too.

Pat,
That's Great!
There is someone here in Indy that started something like that on his own,
He has already filled it, and now, there are other landlords making the
offer. I do not remember his name or contact info. But, If I find out I'll
let you know.

Did you check the SDC Roster?  But I can't say for certain you'll able to
make contact with anyone displaced in the area with the telephone lines
down.  Still a generous move on your behalf, though.

A friend of mine has a daughter and son in law who just moved to NO a couple
of months ago from OR. He has not heard from either of them since Katrina
hit. I pray that he gets good news soon. He will try to get them to come to
his place here in IL as soon as he finds out where they are.

Has anyone heard from Anthony Jarman who lived in Chalmette?  The phones and
email don't work and I am concerned about him.

Be nice if you could check the SDC roster and chase a Studebaker
family in need. If they need a housekeeper, drop me a line. <g>
