Does any body have any information as to what aftermarket fan clutch
fits the V8 models. I have searched the Hayden on line catalogue and
have come up with nothing. I did find one that seemed just about right
but the pilot hole was too small. I called their tech line and asked
about boring it out to 1 inch and was told that it would compromise the
shaft-mounting flange area. He is definetly right on this. It would
probably break under load in no time. The originals were made in Canada
by a company called "THERMATICS" probably no longer in business. I know
some vendors have a replacement for a realistic price, and originals
are hard to come by. I have one from a 1964 Cadillac that looks
identical from the front side but the fan mounting holes., and flange
holes are different center to center.{smaller} The pilot hole is also
smaller. Chime in if you have any info on this. Theres got to be some
other car out there that used the same fan clutch.  Thanks  jimmijim

i read somewhere that a big block chevy fan clutch would work but i
have never checked it out. you might have to go to a junkyard with your
old one in hand and pull some for a comparison if you wanted to go that
route.
