Was getting ready to head off to the Northeast zone meet in Enfield, CT
tonight, had a stack of the 8.5x11 club newsletters and a loose-leaf binder
to go with me. The M5 doesn't have room in the cab for very much when 2
people are on board. Thankfully, the newsletters and loose-leaf binder
easily slipped into the glove box - with lots of room for my camera, cell
phone, a few tools, etc. Why can't modern cars be like this? It's not just
because of air bags, I'm sure.
The zone meet is at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Enfield, just off I-91. It's
a few miles south of Springfield, MA. The show is all day Saturday. We're
expecting about 100 cars from Mass., R.I., VT, CT, NY, NJ, Maine, etc. A
bunch of us plan to go to the auction of Asa Hall's trucks, cars, and
assorted other stuff on Sunday. The auction is in Litchfield, CT at the
Hall home starting at 11:00. Asa had a bunch of very nice, rare, low
mileage M trucks, among other things. I think they are also auctioning the
huge Dodge Big Horn diesel tractor that Asa used to haul the M-16 grain
truck to South Bend in 2002.

I wonder why tey can't make cars today as rugged and sturdy as a M5
half ton truck. We have a 47 and it earns it's keep.
