My '55 coupe has rear armrests. Its a President State if that has anything
to do with interior trim level.

They were often not installed on the "lower" trim level cars...

I should add- BUT... the holes etc... are still there for mounting, and
are pre-cut in the door panel's inner board- Just the outer interior
fabric/vinyl hasn't been cut.

Actually, if you consider a 2-door sedan to be a coupe, they kind of
did... wouldn't it be cool to take one of those and make the "door"
panels operational, like one of those Saturn coupes or an extended cab
pickup?
nate
(no, it's all factory, they were really ahead of their time!)

Yes it does... mine is a C3 (lowest trim level Commander,) I think
yours would be a C6 or C7 if I remember correctly so you're two steps
higher on the food chain (I know C5 is the higher trim level Commander,
not sure what a president is, but it's higher yet.)
Guess I need to spend some quality time with the parts books, or better
yet stop worrying about it because nobody's ever going to sit back
there :) just was curious more than anything else...
nate
PS - a president coupe would be a cool car! I thought most of them
were either sedans or hardtops...

Id leave them gone.It makes it easy to remove the rear seat cushion if such
a need arose(lock yor keys in the trunk),and also getting those damn bolts
started was always more of a pain than its worth.
