R Series Lark and Hawk Dash Bulbs

18R is the number, IIRC from 30 years ago.
You can dip the glass of a regular bulb in certain liquids (dye?) to
get the same effect. Probably someone here can supply details.

Actually, the red bulbs were standard in most if not all '63s on.  My 259
'64 Wagonaire had them from day one.

look in the parts book, they list 'red bulb' equipment tachs, so I don't
know what that means.

all 3 of our 64's are red red red, 64 hawk R1,64 hawk R2,64 daytona not
an R.

Thought so.  The R2 lark has a few red ones in it.  So the standard non
R series Larks/Hawks should all be clear?

I think all '64s have red.  Even my Commander six cyl. does.

All of the '64's have the red bulbs.

Did this ever show up on a build sheet by itself - not as part of a
package?
What with the unknown history of just about all of our cars, what
exists now isn't necessarily what it was when it was unloaded at the
dealers.
