I have purchased some rechromed 55 tail light housings. They have none of
the wiring for the bulbs. If I remember correctly, they need terminal ends
with a spring and an oval shaped block that the wires pass through. The oval
shape keeps the setup from rotating when the bulb is twisted in. Anyone have
these either new or used?
Thanks

Rhode Island Wire, http://www.riwire.com/ , has contacts, springs and
insulators for lamp sockets.

All I see there for 55's is complete harnesses.

Look under "Supplies", and "Buttons, Washers, and Springs". You may need to
salvage that "oval shaped block"; or find new sockets with the same type in
an auto parts store.

I think I posted a while back that I'd found an aftermarket socket with
the phenolic block that matched the original stude sockets, do a search
and see if I posted what it was (I forget)

i used to get the innards for light sockets from napa.but i dont know
if they are available anymore. but you have to look around for
"pigtail socket assembly" to see if you can find something that will
suit your needs.
