Looks more like a Blues Hawk - sorry looking!
Matthew Burnette - 26 Sep 2005 23:29 GMT
At the Georgia State meet earlier this year, there was one that was in
worse shape than this. Part of the left tail fin was comletely rusted
away, as was a huge chuck of the right QT panel. It nearly made me cry
to see such a car in such terrible shape. It didn't have a huge chunk
missing of the nose though...
Matthew (the nose was the best part on this one, and it was cracked)

Ahh, nose pieces are available and even ones with chunks missing like this
one are repairable. After all it is fiberglass. This one would need a  bit
of work.
By the way, just a reminder, if you come accross a Packard Hawk in your
travels I would appreciate knowing the body or serial number as well as the
owner's name. By the way there are three currently listed at Hemmings and
there was one listed recently in TW..

Mike,  Some of the links on your site don't work.

"Pictures of Packard Hawks" and "Paint Chart".

"This Pack hawk was the one used to make the Danbury mint model"???
I remember a Golden Hawk model that looked allmost this bad, but not a K9
like this. I recall it being a perfect cond. teal color car.

Danbury did a nice Packard Hawk in green. I have a problem believing
that this was the car that the Mint used.  I'm sure they used a near
perfect car. I have one of the models and it is very nice

Yeah, I've got the "Golden Hawk project car" model. I love it too. i
even bought it a trailer to put behind my modified Coupe Express. (all
1/18 scale).
Matthew (the CE is cool, a true 50's hotrod; including a 2 carburator
setup...)

it was used for the model where it looks like an abandoned car at a
junkyard.
Fieronut - 27 Sep 2005 06:02 GMT
I think he said it was the MODEL, not the particular CAR used for the
miniature...

Good distinction.

Yes, the car that they actually used I believe was a California car. I had
the information here somewhere. But now I don't seem to be able to find it.

High marks to the Mint modeler if this car was truly used for that
purpose!  I seriously doubt it!

Yea, a person unamed from the Packard side of the hobby complained because
you could read the plate number on a couple of cars. I am putting together
some new photos minus the plate numbers.
