If I translated the engine # correctly its a 1963 Champ truck engine
from near the end of production.

2400 for the worst engine Stude ever made does seem a bit steep.
Ive got one thats got a good head and low miles Ill sell for 200.
Or I could just take the head off and send it,the engines been stuck for
years.

Yeah when I saw it , I thought , "I'd sell all of mine for $2400"<G>
I dont if it was the worst engine Stude made, they are quite peppy but
they all sound like a tractor/industrial engine when running.

But it sure IS rare. Can't be more than a handful of 'em ever got
transplanted into Jeeps. <G>

The flathead Champion six, OTOH, was a popular Jeep upgrade.

So is anyone going to tell the guy that his $2400 engine is worth only
about a tenth of that? Or should we wait and see if some sucker, er
astute investor,  actually bids on it?

Thanks for the laugh,

Gord Richmond

Ah,best of luck to him.
If he ever got the 2400 there would be a run of "rare" Studebaker engines on
E-Bay though.

I did e-mail him, he says his client wants it listed at that price.
I wrote back and told him if he gets it, I'll supply more engines with a
rusty Studebaker attached for half the price.<g>
