If a NG'er is thinking about this car, don't bid until you have the car
inspected, trust me on this one.

I wonder what the other vehicle looked like.  I don't think I would want to use
this guy to transport anything.

Not that I'm interested in buying, but is the damage shown? Doesn't
look that  bad...or are there other problems not disclosed?

I spoke to the winning bidder who was to take delivery of the car.
e-mail me if you are thinking of bidding and I can pass on his comments.

Apologies in advance for hijacking this thread:

I just had a bid cancelled on an item I would have liked to buy. It
was the only bid registered, and the auction had only a few hours to
go.

Seller said (on the eBay page) "bid cancelled because item is no
longer available for sale".

I'm thinking, "Yeah, right, someone just walked in off the street and
bought the thing just hours before the unreserved auction was due to
close. Happens all the time."

I sent seller an e-mail that basically said "gives one cause to
wonder."

Just wondering. If I were to have a friend go to the seller's physical
store, and he sees said item offered for sale on the premises, do I
have any recourse?

No.
He could have just said he found out it was broken, or something like that.
The real reason (probably no bidders) may well never be told...

Not really, but ebay will nail him for fee avoidance if he does it
enough. He just does not want to pay a reserve fee, and just ends the
auction early if it does not go high enough.

Nope, not interested, just curious...obviously there's more than meets
the eye going on.

Since it's sold, I guess I can share. The high bidder was thrilled to be
able to get his money back from the shipper. The car was a bondo buggy
under shinny paint.

Ah! I was wondering if it was hidden damage from the shipper, or
previous problems
