I think he may be confusing me with another SDC'er that left his
wife for a girlfriend. I might mail him and ask, maybe have him discuss
my "adultery" with my wife. <g>

Went to the annual West Hollywood Halloween down in 'boy's town' last
night with the gf. Say what you will about those gay fellas, they have
imaginations and creative talent, not to mention a dearth of shyness.
Two folks were walking through the middle of it all (they closed a 1/2
mile of Santa Monica Blvd. for the festivities) with those huge signs
basically telling everyone there that they're all going to hell. Nice to
have the info, I'm sure, but what struck me was how they were treated -
mostly ignored, but generally left unmolested. Made me wonder what would
happen if the tables were turned and a pile of the local revelers found
their church and showed up for services with signs denouncing their way
of life. I imagine there'd be hell to pay (pun intended).

"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public
servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is
warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or
inefficiency in
rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole.
Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty
to tell
the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to
blame
him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other
attitude
in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there
must be
no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President,
right
or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally
treasonable to the
American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one
else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or
unpleasant,
about him than about any one else."

Funny how folks use some passages in the bible and ignore others.
"Why don't fundamentalists organize protests and picket seafood
restaurants, oyster bars, church barbecue suppers, all grocery stores,
barber shops, tattoo parlors, and stores that sell suits and dresses
made of mixed wool, cotton, polyester, and other materials? All of
these products and services are "abominations" in Leviticus. When have
you heard a preacher condemn the demonic abomination of garments that
are made of mixed fabrics? "

Strange, I don't recall ever using "Doug Thompson" as a by-line.

If this is the same Neil Lipes from Manhattan just off the Westside,
you cannot deal on a rational level. Our chapter had problems with
him. He will drive 100 miles to a show, look around and see who, not
what ocars are there, but who is there, if it does not please him, he
will do an 18 year old spin out and leave the show.
Ellen has the letters, but the fibers in polyester fabric attack his
body and when we explained to him that a certain shirt can only be
made on a shirt with a polyester content he went ballistic
He even went as far to send us a letter showing us that he has an on
going order with the museum to send him one of each of every shirt
they make.
Maybe he has turned into a born again DD?
