a 1963 Studebaker Standard, here is one. Note the funky glove box
arrangement, and lack of any trim on the exterior. Just slightly
fancier than a Scotsman...

I've owned an ex-City of Seattle Standard for about 25 years. I don't
if it was spec'ed by someone in their planning/purchashing dept., but
this bare-bones car came with A/T, deluxe steering wheel (horn ring
instead of button), and an under-hood light and trunk light.

Remember those weren't sold here in Canada. First one I actually saw was
Dwain G's ex-City of Seattle Standard at the International in 1982. I saw
what is probably the nicest one around the next year in South Bend; the
Green Mist one belonging to James Crouch out of Wisconson.

I remember seeing a dealer in Kansas City advertising the Standards for
something like $1798 delivered (price leader).

I recently bought a '63 Wagonaire Standard, funky glove box, no trim, etc.
I wish my sheet metal was as good as the one on Ebay, but time and elbow
grease will fix that. Story and pictures here at:
http://www.studegarage.com/63wagon.htm and

It's currently sharing the garage with my '65 Wagonaire Commander and the
'48 M5 truck.

Gary,
If the glove box is like the one on my '64 CDR, I suggest that you find
or make a box (to fit the glove box) into which you can put all your
"stuff" and just remove that as needed.
