Price for '37 Rear fenders?

To any and all,

I am currently working out a deal to get a really nice bed for my '37
Coupe-Express.  As part of the deal I may have to trade a pretty nice
set of original steel rear fenders to pull everything together.  I
don't want to get rid of these fenders, but I'm thinking that when I
finally get to the point where I can get my truck roadworthy if
necessary, I can use a pair of the fiberglass ones that Jeff Rice is
working on.

I know original rear fenders are fairly difficult to come by but I have
not spent any time looking for them because I already have a pretty
nice pair.  What are they going for out on the open market?  I want to
deal fairly and honestly with the gentleman that has the bed but I have
no idea what these may be worth in trade.

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

I think the fenders may be worth more than the bed, if they are really nice.
I would sure like to find a good pair, myself!

Barry,

Thanks for the response.

Can you give me some idea in dollars what they might be worth?  The
fenders I have are very solid though they certainly aren't perfect.
One has a small. shallow dent but it is not creased so it should dolly
out with minmal effort.  The other has a rust hole in the lower corner
located behind the tire but the fender lip is still intact so the
repair would be pretty straightforward.

I had been hunting for a truck for 3 or 4 years and in all that time I
had never seen fenders for sale so I have absolutely no clue what they
may be worth.  I have a freind from work who has family in the area
where the box is located.  He will be visiting them over the
Thanksgiving holiday and volunteered to bring it back for me for the
cost of his gas.  The trade I'm trying to work out has to happen pretty
quickly otherwise I would have taken a chance selling them on eBay to
generate the necessary cash.  I suspect they may have generated quite a
bit of interest.

Thanks again,

Thor

Jeff would probably be a better judge of the value of the fenders, but I
would agree that the fenders would have indeed generated QUITE a bit of
interest on ebay, likely to the tune of $400.00 ea or more if the loonies
get to squabbling over them. I would love to have them for my project.
