John, you seem to love to cause ill feelings and are often the epitomy
of hypocrisy.  Many of the same things you ripped the R2 hawk for today
show up on your own cars quite regularly. From the incorrect grill,
bucket seats, avanti air cleaner, paint color, etc on your R2 lark to the
wrong supercharger color  (and supercharger), welded exhaust and
flowmaster mufflers, dryer vent heater hose, etc., on your R2 hawk.
Maybe I read it wrong (or you have A.D.D.) but I the R2 add stated that
the original shifter was included with the "wrong" one (a 300.00 hurst
unit) and it needed some parts changed to be original again (including
a detailed statement about the vinyl roof being  wrong) Only real claim
I remeber was that the car was 100% rust free and had tons of money
dumped into the mechanicals and chrome. As far as the super hawk issue,
we all know about the "package" 46A . But when a company makes less
than 350 TOTAL  R2 supercharged hawks over a two year span and less
than 1/4 of those exist today (75 or so)  I say the "term" works just
fine.(maybe youll start ripping on the plain brown wrapper next....and
by the way what a dishonor /outrage to self proclaim your car the
"plain wrapper".)  The twin antennas look cool and Id take the modern
"welded" exhaust over stock any day. And ripping on the rear brake
line????  Come on. And to think you really believe some misc. hacker
took down your site, sounds more like a guy on this board to me...I for
one applaud the guy. I have never known of a man who had more people
talk more bad things about a guy than you. And the sad part is it
doesnt seem to bother you . You are the opposite of all I have grown to
love about stude people.(good, honest, clean people)  You should've done
us all a favor and stuck soley with the PORN sites as your source of
income.

I don't get it...  I took JP's critique of the car as what it was, an
assessment of how it would do in concours judging.  I didn't think that
that was intended as a slam on the car or the owner of the car.  I
probably would have said the same things about the car, however, were I
interested in buying a GT Hawk I would definitely be interested in this
one.  Just because a car isn't correct doesn't necessarily make it
BAD...

Seems to be an easy way to piss people off is to critique a nice car...
even if it's only intended to educate people about what's "wrong" with
it.  ("wrong" is in quotes, because I'd probably have added the Hurst
myself...)

Bo, asked "What say yea!  Would she make the muster of a Studebaker
Concours judging event? "

I looked it over as a judge would and reported what I saw as incorrect
and that's all I'll say on the subject.

I always hate to get in the middle of a thread like this, so all I'll say
is that JP has ALWAYS been TRUTHFUL, HONEST AND FAIR with me.  And has
helped me with FREE advice when I needed it.

I agree with John (fieronut) - not the most disliked guy in Studeland at all
but one of the most respected.  Anyone who has ever had an issue with JP
through the years in this forum I remember being squarely in John's corner.
I like his politics, I like the whole karma thing and I like his periodic
updates on what he buys and what he thinks.  Tom has balls trying to flame
JP in this forum; he's got lots of silent backers.   and the free advice is
always great too.  His spelling and grammar needs occasional correction but
that's it.

Threads like this shouldn't really be a popularity contest.  It should
be the free exchange of information.  Everyone is entitled to their
opinion and this is the place to share it.  I think if you are going to
sell a car, especially if you put it on e-Bay you shouldn't 'wear your
heart on your sleeve'.

Like it or not JP is correct on every one of his observations.  The
only one I am not sure of is the "caution fan" decal - so, what's the
beef?  He was asked for his opinion and he gave it - big deal. I
personally thought it was a nice gesture on his part to take the time
to answer the man's question.
John Poulos - 04 Nov 2005 04:44 GMT
The GT Hawks did not have, nor need the decal because of the full fan
shroud.

John and I have been on the outs more times in's. We have had some
vicious fights but, and I say but, Like I know 56J's or pretend to, I
know that John knows GT's, Speedsters and a few other cars, and I have
turned into a 47 Commander Convertible maven,  That was easy.... there
are only 6 known to exist.

However, not to berate your car, had you, or an interested party asked
John privately about  the car, maybe this would not have opened up.

Since the GT is a grown uo 56J I noticed small but irksome issues that
I was not sure were correct, and considering I don't have the cash I
would not ask them. But we have gone this far without one of these
dump on each others, lets stop it now.

Looks like it's your turn in the barrel.

You have interest in the car?

The only label that fits:
http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/article_6966.shtml

"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public
servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is
warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or
inefficiency in
rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole.
Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty
to tell
the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to
blame
him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other
attitude
in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there
must be
no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President,
right
or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally
treasonable to the
American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one
else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or
unpleasant,
about him than about any one else."
