I'm slightly familiar with this car, since it used to live in McKseesport
where i live

I think I heard it's on a car lot now-- but if anyone wants me to go give
it a looksee- lemme know

Looks like it could be a BIN bargain

Wexford... isn't there some Studebaker garage still in operation near
there?  I seem to remember stopping in once while looking for a pizza
place I remembered from college (closed...)

That car looks like a bargain if it runs and drives as good as it
looks.  I'm amazed it's not more rusted, given the area.  If I still
lived there I might consider doing something stupid like buying it for
a daily driver.

I think that Pa has a pretty stiff inspection standard regarding rust
through and this car might be on the verge of failing that hurdle. I'm
afraid that the car would not fare well as a daily driver in your neck
o' the woods without a lot of preventative maintenance bodywise.

Did you notice the eight volt battery?

Last PA car I owned had a 2 week old PA inspection on it. It had rust
through in the firewall and the floors that was patched with thin
aluminum and rivets...this was 3 years ago. The car did fail MD
inspection, so I sold it to a guy in PA and it passed the inspection
there again.

MD is the worst place in the universe, inspection wise...  I still
don't think my '55 would pass, which is why it still has historic
plates on it.  The body is solid, but there's an exhaust leak, a really
bad front main, and the heater doesn't work all of which I think are
grounds for failure.  I did just rebuild the suspension so that part is
OK.

It's not that bad.  you just can't have any rust through.  Stainless
steel tape is a legal rust repair, if not elegant.

You're thinking of Kliment Bros in Forest Hills-- which shut down about
three years ago or so

Wexford is north by the turnpike exit to downtown Pittsburgh-- or- extreme
North Hills for lack of a better description

When I first saw this car it ran and looked pretty good
A Lincoln Mercury dealer had it and he used to take it to local cruises
after someone had traded it in on a new Lincoln

That was awhile ago though, so I'm sure its deteriorated over time, but
again- it also looks worth the price

It has antique plates, and has had them for probably 15 years-- so it
doesn't need inspected in Pa.
