Hi all,

how do I clean out the the innards of the odometer?  Some kind of spray
cleaner or
mixture of somekind?  It was all frozen but now its rotating but it
should be cleaned before I put it back together.  The cable head was
broken so a new speedometer cable is needed.
wow the speedometer working, got a clock and next to find a radio for
her.
Then if I get the wagon or the 40 coupe sold  I can get her repainted
back to the color she's supposed to be.  Oh would'nt that be the cat's
Meow!

I have never done this on a really old speedo  but I would be really
cautious about hosing it out with solvent.  Even if the solvent does not
attack the decals on the odometer they might be covered with the muck hosed
out of the mechanism.  Maybe jus blow what you can out with compressed air
and lube it sparingly with sewing machine oil?  There are some good picutres
of what is going on here at this site:

Good luck!
