I figured I'd get a couple comments from the V8 snobs 'round here...I
put many a mile on Studebaker OHV sixes without any major problems.
Treat 'em right and they are just fine.  And I forgive Nate as his
brain is a little warped from driving that thing that masquerades as a
Porsche...

Wasn't happening, I actually needed the thing to get me to work every

What a great find ! Is that your garage it is in ? Looks like you got quite
a collection or you are doing a lot of work for others.

I did some horse trading for this one.  Six banger auto with about
seventy thousand original miles.  I got it from the original owner who
bought it as a demo.  It has been sitting about twenty five years and I
can't find a dent on it although a small bit of rust is coming out on
the rockers.  Haven't had it up in the air yet as I've had both lifts
tied up.  It has been painted once years ago with what appears to be
either Deltron or Amerflint; the old time stuff before they took all
the bad chemicals out of the paint.  All those bad (good) chemicals
(mostly cyanides) were what made the paint so good but were not so very
good for the painters...  I cleaned a small spot and with a buffer it
should easily come up.  The car will need the usual; brakes, tires,
exhaust, fuel system, etc. but is in super shape.  The interior is
great, too.  REAL dirty inside and out, but curiously the headliner is
spotless and I don't (knock on wood) see any evidence of varmints
inside.  I have already had a couple people ask me about buying it and
really don't know what I will do with it yet.  A V8 parts car comes
with it that I haven't picked up yet, although this car is way too nice
and original to be changing around IMHO.  I also have a line on an
Avanti that is also a "barn" car.  Come spring maybe I will have a big
sale... Trades or ideas?

There is one just like that sitting up here in Pleasantville NY, in the
Crossroads Garage. Three years I was allowed to go int and look at the
car. The interior is perfect, with a touch of mold starting on the
floor.

The odometer reads either 27 miles or 127 miles. The way the building
is situated on its lot, it goes thru too many temperature changes
during the day. The entire front end of the building is glass, and the
entire left wall of the shworoom area is also glass. When you drive by
in the winter there is so much frozen condensation on the glass you can
barely tell whats inside. Drive by around 4 in the afternoon, all the
water is gone.

Good luck with that car.

I like it George, especially since my car is just like it. Only mine
was originally Ermine white. You're lucky, my interior is SHOT, I'm
sure you noticed... But some JP seat covers along with my NOS
headliner, all I have left is the carpeting and dash/door panels.
Speaking of dases, anyone know of an inexpensive way to fix a 63 Lark
dash? A guy once told me, I can't remember the name, but it's made by
3M, and it works like bondo. Anyone? I may end up with a 64 dash from
one of our oarts cars with a NOS cover. (a LOT cheaper than those 63
repop covers.
Matthew (Nothing wrong with an OHV six, but I'll admit, our 289 Hawks
are fun too!) Burnette

What a find George, you have given us all hope that there may still be
treasures awaiting!
