Obviously, they were removed from something.  The pictures show cut
hoses.  Too bad it's not a stash of R3 NOS engines<bseg>.

Mark, they never MADE that many R3 engines! (Seriously: If all the R3s
were in the same place at one time, there wouldn't even be half that
many.) What a stash indeed. BP

Now I know what those overhanging platforms/balconies were used for!  Nice
comparision shot with the archival museum photo from 1948!

Multi fuel (diesel) engines from 2 1/2 ton trucks. Probably removed from
the trucks when they were upgraded to the newer National Guard Version
with the cummins diesel and automatic tranny, central inflation system
etc.(Like the newer 5 tons)

Those engines look like Hercules Multifuel engines used in many
military vehicles.
