Old Vern was a busy guy! I'd liked to been there to see the look on the
Brand-X- dealers's faces when Vern got the State of Iowa contract for
hundreds of Larks.

Great read.
It sure must have been rough bob-tailing with those things though(even with
the extended frame).
I used to drive tractor trailers way back when I was just a kid going to
tech school in the winters.Almost gave up engineering because I loved
driving so much,but in those days,the whole damn 45 foot trailer had to be
unloaded by hand(rollers) by me,and whoever was available at the CO-OP
grocery stores I hauled for.

there was an article about this dealership in an issue of TURNING WHEELS, I
used to borrow them from a Lutheran Studebaker driving Minister that I knew
in Louisiana
