Some of you will remember, some of you won't.  Some of you will care, some
of you won't.  If you find this bothering you, please move on to the next
post.  This is not political, and doesn't bash anybody.  There is no
profanity or name calling involved.  (I know this will disappoint some,
thrill some, and others won't like it for some other reason or another.)
It's simply one guy sharing his "follies" with some of his friends.  I'm too
lazy, and would not go through the trouble to make up a mailing list from
the group of folks who I think might enjoy the "other side" of my hobby, to
keep from offending some others.  If that bothers you, why haven't you moved
on to the next post yet?  <G>

If it intrigues you, read on, if you are finicky about "OT" stuff, now would
be an excellent time to hit, "next post!"  I have put considerable effort
into this project, and want to share the outcome.

Several years back, I started on a mission to make one of my parking meter
collection items do something other than simply look old, and/or restored.
I wanted to have it do something neat when I dropped a coin in it.  I
figured out a way to make an electrical connection, by using a micro switch
within the timer.  Once I reached that point, the project stalled, because I
went back to work, somewhat more than full-time.  But, since I have recently
re-retired, I made another run at it.

The lamp lights when a coin is inserted, and the knob is turned.  When the
"Time Expired" flag comes up, the lamp turns off.  There is a 120V outlet on
the back of it, and I have also installed a 12V power supply, so that I can
run "other" lights 'n stuff off of it.  I still need to add the lower lock
and maybe some decals, but this is the jist of it.

I haven't quite decided on a "theme" yet, I'm thinking of either a LE or
Stude theme.  (Sorry, Jeff, the CE podium may be relocated.)  <G>

I'll be the first to say it.  Yep... it's true... I have too much time on my
hands!  (Pun intended.)

Here are pics of the  "project," almost done:

Think of you every time I look at it, Gary.  Kinda wondered when you
were gonna put the Coors decals on yours.  <G>

Also, I think of Jeff when I look at the yellow one.

BTW, I'm going to the doctor soon.  I have some headaches I can't
explain.  -¿Ö

That's my plan!

What's Her Face gets to decide the decor of the house, everything in
the shop goes with me to the assisted living center!  (If I want WHF to
know I said that, I'll tell her.)

Gees, Dave, now you have me hankering for the "latest model" to replace the
obsolete factory stock unit I bought from you a few years back. The wife
would kill me......

You don't need to replace it... I can give you the list of Radio Shack parts
you will need to update your unit.  That, and an aluminum bridge to mount
the micro switch to the timer, and you're good to go!  <G>

WHF said, "That's nice, I'm glad you like it, but don't get me one for
Christmas."
