Would you restore it to original or put a fat set of wheels on it
Captain Studebaker?  How about an R3 engine?
Young Captain - 25 Mar 2006 04:37 GMT
It would most likely have a "hopped up" Stude straight 8 in it.

I was debating what I would do.  It is such a rare car the Stude guys
would hate you if you modified it.

then the tunnel visioned purists need to schitt $$$ and save it from us
unsaved heathens.

ROFLMAO!!!   Like any of us "heathens" have enough $$ to buy that
thing...and then pay for parts to make it a REAL Hot Rod!

No frugal Stude guy is gonna pay over $30K for a car that needs
restored...those bidders are looking at "investment" potential and
won't mind paying $70,000 for a restoration. Of course, it COULD be
Chip Foose bidding on it...looking for something to turn into next
years Ridler Award winner!  :)

A 245 from a truck would drop right in...  would be a little easier to
hop up than a President 8.  Not much though... but I do seem to recall
seeing an aluminum head on eBay a while back.
