I have put several Studebakers back on the road, so I thought I would
try my luck with a Kaiser. I bought a 51 Kaiser that has set for
awhile. Got a new battery, cleaned the plugs, new points, voltage
regulator. I put some Marvel Mystery oil in each cylinder. This car has
the 6 volt positive ground. It turns over and trys to fire. What really
bugs me, is when you put the switch on,,lights, radio etc. the amp
gauge shows a charge. Is ther a short some place ?
Help !!!!!!
Thanks,

Are you SURE it's postive ground? It sounds like the ammeter is reading
backwards, which seems like the battery is in backwards.

Yup, all Kaisers were 6 volt positive ground. I'm sure what Jeff means
"have you got the battery hooked up the right way round?" He could also
mean that somebody did an "English Ford" on it <G>

Jeff,
I feel stupid, you are right. i switched the battery and almost got it

Thanks,
Clyde

Those who haven't done something wrong probably have done nothing
right, either.

Like your phrase...
Reminds me of one of my late fathers' phrases....
"You have to be doing something to make a mistake"

Seems to be a lot of confusion this week regarding the heritage of Kaiser
products. <G>
