Just a shamless plug for my 'No Reserve' auction that ends tomorrow on eBay.
Might make a nice Mother's Day Present for some luck mother. <G>

Your Starliner appears to be a combination of 1953 and 1954 parts.  Out
of curiosity, what do the serial number and body tag indicate?  Is it a
'53 with some '54 items or a '54 with some '53 items?
John Poulos - 14 May 2006 00:13 GMT
It's a 55 titled by the NM MVA as a 53 at their request back in the
70's.  Something about police ID'ing the car. the 55 serial and body tag
match the title. The Md MVA is not interesting in changing it either,
they just want the title to match the VIN and it does.

Good question, Gary. Since I bought the car from JP (after he surgically
removed the engine, tranny and drive shaft) and had no title. I'm not
familiar with either 53 or 54. Tell me what you see goes with which year.

Loy, check the serial tag for the year. BTW, the new owner can get a
title from Broadway title for $125.

I only looked at the pictures on the main listing.  The grilles and
tail lights are 1954 and the dash is 1953 Commander.  Just post what is
on the serial number and body tags and the mystery will be solved.

N8 reminded me about the car.  It was once a pretty nice rod. N8 bought
the Offy vintage valve covers and manifold and I sold the Novi AC unit
that was in the trunk.

If only it were close and I had a place to put it... I would 53-ize my
55 so fast...
