Speaking of tranny fluid, Red Line was highly recommended to me recently.
The non-slippery MTL or MLT.  Better than regular GL1 gear oil?  Being
synthetic, would I have to get inside the tranny to clean up the residual
old oil?  Or can the new stuff tolerate what's left from dripping
overnight?  (This would be for the T86 and T96 type BWs)

I can't think of anything I've tried that makes for slicker shifts in a
straight stickshift tranny, but I have no data on whether or not it's
advisable for an OD trans.  They claim that it's compatible with
regular gear oils, so a little residual is not a problem, but if it
bothers you I don't see any harm in running it for a few thousand miles
and then changing it again.
