Its really a great photograph,#5, I mean. The car sitting alone with the
sides well defined. But with the rest of the garage overflowing, but auto
related stuff in the background, like the books. The car doesn't look beat to
death, but just in the middle of being put back together. But alot of the
good pieces have gone missing.
The picture could have been a lttle sharper, but really like the lighting of
this one.
Made a great background picture.

Looks like vintage cragars- w/ primer over pitted chrome.

Seeing that it's a RI car originally, rust will be an issue.

But, if the presenter had taken a few more pictures and provided more
details, it might be the basis for a drag car or ???

I've been lurking here for 8 years, but I never saw this suggested
before.

Why R1 and rust? Does it take a supercharger to outrun ferrous oxide?
Better hog troughs on performance models?  Or perhaps folks are just so
happy to have R2 or R3 that they don't make an issue out of rust.

Thanks in advance for any illumination.

Yep, aluminum frame and hog-troughs for lighter weight!  <g>

Actually, I think he means 'RI' for Rhode Island, not R1.

Yep...  My old Avanti was purchased when I lived in RI but it was a
Connecticut car which meant even more rust.  I had to replace the bottom
plates on the frame from the spring supports rearward in 1973.  I
understand that it now resides somewhere in Oz...
