And you think I haven't written him?  ;-)  Left my phone # too!  ;-)
Do you think any of the parts from that '55 Prez will fit?

Unfortunately, I don't think that there will be much interchangeability
between the two.

OTOH, putting stuff from the '64 on to the '55 would be considered an
upgrade such as finned brake drums, etc.  But, I think that '64 would be
a stand alone project well worth the effort.

I'm too old for additional projects but will be interested as to how you
make out.

The wife sent me 14 pix this AM.  Seems very solid, no discernible rust
except what appears to be some surface rust on the left bottom corner
of the trunk lid.  However, the little beauty is painted green (very
dull) with a VERY WELL taken care of BLUE interior, full dash, AM
radio, Flight-O-Matic on the column.  I think it was previously white
because the trunk interior is white and lots of white showing around
the name plates.  No emblems of any kind on the trunk.

Hood shows what appears to me to have been an engine fire on the
driver's side, where the battery/power brake booster reside.  Can't
figure out what it coulda been--there is nothing there to burn.  Has
duals, so I assume it also has a 4-v carb.  Not a bad car for $3k, I
guess.

The wife said the engine had not been turned over in many years altho
they DID start it frequently when they first put it on blocks--in 1973!
(Hey, one good thing, ya won't have to buy the '73 license!!  It's
already there!)

I think it will be a small challenge to whomever buys it, even tho it
would make a GREAT project for yours truly----now if I can ONLY
convince my wife I need both a '55 Prez AND this car!!

The husband gets off work @ 4:30 and they will call me to come over
tonite.   As of now, I REALLY want this car!!  Stay tuned!

Let me know if you decide not to buy it, and I will and we'll flip it on
ebay together.

Sounds like a  deal, JP but as of this moment, if that guy EVER calls
me, at least in my mind, IT'S MINE!

The lady just called..her husband is home, said she had LOTS of
inquiries.  The 1st one there with the money gets it----I think that'll
be ME!

I was right!!  It was I!

Like a chick on a blind date, this little beauty had a few unapparent
flaws--like 8' SQUARE HOLES on either side in the front floor!!

However, the guy was very nice.  He pulled the spark plugs, we bumped
the starter a few times and the engine moved.  All the fluids look the
right color, especially the red power steering and trans fluids.  The
AC blows (warm) and the radio works.  The heater filter is probably
glued in--it wouldn't move!  It DOES have a 4-v carb and dual exhaust.

There appears to be NO rust of the type usually found on Studebakers,
front fenders and trunk.  There is more surface rust on the radiator
support and fan shroud than the whole rest of the car.  I wouldn't be
surprised if this little jewel didn't RUN after I clean the gas sytem

Didn't have time to get it today, will pick it up on Monday.  Wish me
luck!
