Got my Hurst from Jeg's today; I think Hurst is having some QC issues.
The 1-2 shift rod is bent all wrong; fortunately "my" old '62 Daytona
is still here, I pulled the same rod off that car and while it is
stamped with the same part no. it is bent in different places.  That
one works, the new one doesn't.  Better call Thibeault and make him
aware of that issue...  Maybe this is why they were on backorder?

(and I thought I was being SO SMART by setting up the shifter before
dropping the engine in... well I guess it was smart, if I were trying
to figure this out laying on my back, I would be beyond pissed!)

an idea, but no...  one end is threaded and one is just bent over, so
that's not the issue...

Well, Hurst apparently only answers their phone during banker's hours...
does anyone have an old Hurst shifter removed from a Stude that they
would sell the linkage and mounting plate from?  For once, I've got $$
but I'd really, really like to get this car together.

Nate

I am using Hurst shifters in a couple of mine.  Specifically one of my
Tcabs and in my 65 but they have been installed for a good ten years.
If it was me and the bend was wrong I would just fire up the blue
wrench and make it right.

As for the bolt on bracket I just use the main frame bracket ant the
one that crosses over on the right side......as I have stated before
just be sure to replace the bolt that goes through the center with a
grade 8 before ytou find yourself standed when the bolt strips.
