I need to find out if the 56 Comander and the Parkview wagon gas tanks
are the same Part #. I have a major leak the seam is split about 6
inches.

Not the same part #...sorry
1956-57     W-F-Y- 1540205   (Commander)
1956-57         C-K   1540201     (Hawks)
1956-57          D-P   1540203       (Parkview Wagon)

Having said that they don't have the same part number- does not mean you
CANNOT use it... It may well fit. About the only thing you can do is set
them side by side and see...

Thanks for the information. The tank shop said there is not enough
metal to repair. I know where a commander 4 dr. is at and the tank
looks good. If it ever gets below 105 degrees

Looks like I will try to make one fit. The chances of finding a station
wagon gas tank is nill to none

The fuel inlet is wrong unless you use a wagon tank.

All wagons will be the same.

I bought what I believe to be a wagon tank at the auction last weekend.
However, it should not be too hard to solder your old inlet pipe into the
correct location on a sedan tank.

Do a Google search for "gas tank renu" and see if you can find a place in
your area that uses this process.  This is what I had done to the tank on my
56 President and it came out very well.
