Drove up to Pat Skelly's this afternoon.
Ditched all my welders and some tool stands on him for safekeeping
during the move.
Had a nice dinner and now the wimmen are jabberjawing and the guys are
bs'ing.
I am going to try and fill up Pat's shop with 'stuff'...

The Garage Majal might get a little full...
Matthew
P.S. Ya know, my grandad built the Garage Majal, and I'm sure he'll be
glad to build you one as well. ;) lol.

Ha!! Jeff, I feel for ya! I only had to move my crap (errrr, I mean
"stuff" 100 yards) and I'm worn out from it!
The story is.....
I finally got to reclaim my shop space this weekend! On Saturday, I
hired three workers to empty two old storage sheds (1 is 15'x20' tin
shed, the other is an older 28'x8' tractor trailer unit sitting on the
steel rails). We sealed them both up, put new subflooring in the
trailer and then threw away about 2 tons of crap and junk....THEN
yesterday we finally cleared all the extraneous "household stuff" from
the shop! We moved everything except "FRAGILE" boxes and important
documents (they went to a new overhead storage area on top of my 'parts
room') down to the storage rooms!
WOOHOO!! I now have a semi-clean shop and garage space again...and I
can even see my roll-around tool boxes and can get to the shelves
holding all my pnuematic and electric tools, and I can reach a can of
carb spray without using a 'graber stick' of having to move 8 boxes of
crap to get to the shelf!!
Of course, I now two storage sheds COMPLETELY FULL of furniture,
household goods, extra lawn equipment and the accumulation of JUNK
that neither of us can bear to part with!
The good part is that now I can get BOTH Avantis back into the shop and
get mine back out of this blazing Texas sunshine!
The bad part is that now I don't have any excuse NOT to get out there
and work on it...except that same blazing Texas heat!! The temp here
hit 106 at my place on Saturday and 104 yesterday.
The truth is.....
I spent more time sitting and supervising the 3 workers than I did
actually DOING any work but that's okay, I don't have problem being "El
Jefe" and watching other people work!
Bob (recuperating now...and peeing out all that Gatorade I ingested
over the weekend!)

I made a pilgrimage to the "country" yesterday to take stock of my
extras (I with another individual have a dozen vintage brand-x cars
there) and check to make sure that the '31 is safe in slumber. We have
decided to start putting the brand-x stuff on ebay beginning in late
September as parts cars as none have titles except for a single '50
Champion two door.
I also had a "helper" (legal at that) and "we" stripped a bunch of stuff
of a '82 Honda Civic for spares for my car. It was hot but there were
enough clouds to call direct sun a 50/50 proposition. I brought 12
bottles of cold spring water and we drank 10 of 'em in less than 2 1/2
hours. All in all, a good day.
