Aug 15th pictures are now posted. Several interesting Studebakers
including a yellow one that looks like a streamliner. Very nice.
When you see the tumbling SoCal 800 hp Chevrolet HHR, don't worry.
According to the commentary, the driver walked away after the 240 mph
roll! Safety rules are there for a reason.

I am not sure anybody is.  The last I heard it was undergoing full
restoration, but the plan was not to run it on the salt, although a run
at Maxton was spoken of briefly.

More pics are showing up on the S.C.T.A. site, and landracing.com link.
Due Cento is there, as well as a host of Loewy coupes, other Avanti's,
and an R-series truck.
There are probably more that haven't been photographed or posted yet.
After the event I'm sure more will turn up for our enjoyment.

I only know of 3 Avanti's running on the salt this year.  One is an
Avanti II. The only Studebaker Avantis belong to Bloomberg and Lang.
These were mentioned in an earlier post. Is Lang's Avanti the DuoCento?
I didn't think so, but it could be. Or maybe there is an Avanti out
there I have not heard about. Anybody know?
The 2R pickup looks good, doesn't it?  Running in AA means he is
running a BIG engine in that thing.

A pretty good Stude source for Speedweek this year is over at Sonny's
Studebaker Racing Forum..
http://racingstudebakers.com/stl-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=618
Has a list of most of the Stude's running.
Info gets posted pretty quickly.
