That has either been on E-bay within the last year, or the rear window
treatment has been dupilcated on another car.

I like all the work except for the dash. With all thatwork, I would have
topped it off with many guages, Including a DVD etc.

A long long long time ago, I had a 65 Urine Yellow Mustang, 6 cylinder, 3
speed, AM radio. I would up putting an altimeter and vertical
speed indicator and a turn and bank indicator......... all from wrecked
aircraft. The altimeter worked, but rate of climb barely moved, and the
ball and needle never moved.

But is was sure fun to look at. Before I got rid of the car I even installed
an old NARCO Coffee Grinder Nav/Com. It did recieve
but would not transmit.

BG    BTW- still have the vertical speed indicator and radio.

Yep...
If you like Bondo.
I do like the window treatment, but the non-opposing wipers bust up the
symmetry of the top line.
The dash is a yawner.
The engine area is pretty, but what will it look like after twenty five
miles?

Don't know about the bondo but I agree with everything else, those
wipers don't even look like they fit right.

And what is it with some of these rodders and dashes, if your going to
drive the car the dash is the view of the car the driver sees the most,
why don't they put some art and craftsmanship into the dash>  That thing
makes the dash on my Jeep look lively!

And of course if it's a 47 it shouldn't have a bullet nose, but we all
know that.

And it's a Coddington car, if that TV show in any way reflects what goes
on in that shop I want no part of one of his cars... not that I could
afford one anyway.

I agree, that could have been done better... and, still could, by the new
owner.

I don't think it's all that bad.  It's clean, and fuctional, yet simple.
Not gaudy, too busy, or over done.  The craftsmanship is excellent...
although it may not be, "How you would have done it."  Tell ya what, you
build a dash from scratch, and see if you can equal or exceed the
craftsmanhip involved.  We will be the judge of what you wanted, not you.
If you can do as good or better, I will apologize for my reaction to your
comment.

I know that the '47 did not come out with a bullet nose, if that's what you
mean.  But, it certainly should have.  WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT!!  <G>

I do remember this car being on ebay a while back.  Don't know if Coddington
built it or not, but it can eat crackers in my bed, anytime.

Maybe I over spoke a bit but when you come right down to it that is a
beautiful, dramatically styled car, and the dash just doesn't do it
justice.  Yes, it's clean and functional, but its boring, and a car like
that just shouldn't have a boring dash.

I'd love to be able to build a dash from scratch, but I'm lacking a few
minor things... time, money, the right tools, a place to do it, and a
reason, I like the dashes I've got.

Works for me!  Hope somebody else doesn't disapprove!  <G>

I think they flattened the roof too much - needs the nice round curve
on top.
Jeffrey DeWitt - 23 Aug 2006 01:09 GMT
There really is a lot to like about that car, it's just as Sonny used to
say "I wouldn't have done it quite that way".
