Recently bought a R2 Lark . Oil pan is beat to heck. Does anyone know
where I can purchase another one? One odd factor about this oil pan is
that connected to the dip stick line is a larger open line. Is this
supposed to have a cap on top of it? Looks like a cooling line or
breather line for the oil pan. Please advise your thoughts any help is
appreciated. Thx.

The additional line is a vent tube, as you suspect. It should be
connected to the hose fitting on the air cleaner. Unfortunately this
is a fairly rare pan, so they can be hard to find (I have braze all
over the bottom of mine; unfortunately found another pinhole today) so
if yours is fixable I would suggest doing that. Alternately, if you
can find a good, standard V-8 pan of the same shape, you can move over
the windage tray and cut the hole for the vent tube, although this will
require a good friend with a spot welder.
good luck,
nate

If possible, pound it out as close to original as you can get and work
body filler to smooth it out. This will work fine, trust me.

You will have to cut the thin metal splash shield down the center and fold
it back to get to the bottom of the pan from inside. Them tack weld it back
together. I had to straighten the pan on my R2 Avanti

You can use titanium putty to fix the pin holes. The pan on my truck
has a skim coating on the inside and still is not leaking after nearly
ten years.

As an alternative, you can buy a buy a complete new pan from Fairborn.
They are making good repros for around $200 IIRC.
