A must read thread for Lee A.  It'll take a hour to get through it
on a cable connection, but worth every minute of it. (from the SDC forum)

Wow - and then he wrecked it - and then he fixed it!

Thanks, I'll have to spend some time and go through all 42 pages of posts.
I like Spartan trailers, but I'd have to set it up as the "guest house" in
the backyard... some of those things are long enough that it would be like
camping in a mobile home.

I'm not a trailer guy like you and I plowed through the thread so I
was sure you would find it a interesting read.

What really impressed me is the guy could have just written a check
and had someone else build his dream, but he put a bunch of his own
labor in it.

This picture caught me offguard... artifical turf on a grass concourse...
can't get grass or dirt on those tires...

I wish I had the budget to cop $900.00 for that smartire system, but that
would buy a lot of tires, (or Stude parts)
It sucks to have a leaking tire on a trailer, and not knowing about it until
it starts throwing rubber.
I bet you could find some heat sensors much cheaper which would do about the
same job.

It's certainly beautiful! Personally though, I'm not a fan of tail draggers
but I realize it would have been very hard to convert it to a fifth wheel.
Barry - 31 Oct 2006 05:18 GMT
As I discovered recently on the KS run, a heavy trailer pulls much easier on
a gooseneck or 5th wheel for sure!
